Início Transitários was founded in Madrid in 1998 as a specialist sea-freight forwarder serving Spanish industrial exporters. Almost three decades later we remain proudly Iberian: our headquarters are still in Madrid, and our second office in Lisbon makes us one of the few forwarders that runs Spain and Portugal as a single integrated platform.
We deliberately stay close to our customers. Instead of opening dozens of small offices, we concentrate our specialists in two Iberian hubs and partner with a carefully vetted carrier and agent network in 60+ countries. The result is shorter decision chains, fewer hand-offs, and a senior operator on every file.
Today, Início Transitários moves freight for 1,400+ active customers — from family-owned bodegas shipping a few pallets to Latin America, to listed industrial groups managing year-long project-cargo programs out of the Port of Sines. We handle sea, air, road and rail freight, customs clearance, warehousing and value-added services under one accountable operator.
Our control tower in Madrid runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Every shipment is visible in real time inside our customer portal, every document is automatically filed, and every exception is owned by a named specialist until it is resolved.
